Don’t Say Art

The Trevor Project

Insight — People aren’t consciously aware of the impact LGBTQ+ people have had on culture and society.

Big idea — Take iconic LGBTQ+ people out of their famous work to show how bleak the world would be without them.

art director | copywriter: Brooke Hirsch

As anti-LGBTQ legislation like the Don’t Say Gay bills and transgender bans are proposed across America, queer voices and lives are at greater risk of being erased. Yet people aren’t aware of the impact LGBTQ+ voices have on society. To show what the world is like without queerness, the Trevor Project will team up with Spotify to remove the queer voices from songs on the LGBTQ+ Day of Silence, as well as distribute a series of posters and radio ads.
